Valentine's Day - celebrate love!

This is to celebrate my husband Jeff. He truly is a blessing in my life. He puts up with me when I don't want to put up with myself. He gives graciously and abundantly never asking for anything in return. He is the epiotomy of love. I love you Jeff and I thank you for being my one and only....

Fall Weekend with Our Family

My Mom and Dad, Jeff's parents and Nana all came for a visit this past weekend. We celebrated Becca's 7th birthday, traveled to see Abby's volleyball tournament and enjoyed Elizabeth's Sunday soccer game. We also fit in a few games of Pounce, Yahtzee, saw several football games and ate way more food than we should of. All in all, a wonderful memory making weekend. Thanks everyone for taking the time out of your lives to pay us a visit. We loved having you all.

Tori is dancing

Tori started ballet/tap dance this past week. She was dressed and ready to go in her ballet leotard about 4 hrs before her class started. Needless to say she's excited. Her friends Olivia and Ella are both taking the class with her. She was just precious in her little white skirt and pink ballet shoes. She will have a winter recital and then another one in the spring. Beautiful dancing Tori! Check out Tori below in the photos. And the hair-do, wow!!! You took my breath away....

Becca begins piano lessons

Becca started piano this past week and the teacher guotes "this child will be an absoolute joy to teach." Becca did fantastic the first lesson and has alraedy mastered "Mary had a little lamb" on the sharp keys. One motivator for Becca to play piano is Aunt Lissa's challenge -- If you take piano lessons for 6 months, you can have my baby Grand white piano!!!! Wow, to think this could happen, Becca is ecstatic. One thing I've learned about Becca in the past 6 years, when she sets her mind to doing something, she does it. We better start planning to get a moving van for that piano!!! Great work at your lesson Becca. You will be a star!

Lil Bit tears up the field

Elizabeth's first soccer game was Sunday and even though they got crushed, she did a fantastic job. When she came home from the first practice and told me she was going to play goalie, I thought there must be some mistake. My little girl? As goalie? Don't they need bigger girls to play that position, girls that can actually stop the ball with their size? To my surprise Elizabeth did a wonderful job as goalie and hustled like I haven't seen her to in a long time. Way to go Elizabeth! You and your team did great and you'll improve with each game, just wait and see. Go Greene Fusion!

Abby Hits the court

Abby played in her first volleyball game of the season yesterday. The game was in Broadway which was 1 1/2 hrs away. She did a great job Jeff tells me. She played setter the entire time and scored a few points. Great work Abby. Keep it up.

Undescribable Hope

As most of you know, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in July. What a whirlwind of a few months we've had. Surprise, shock, sadness, grief but amazingly amidst it all....hope. We have such awesome hope that Mom will be ok. She will pull through this and be a stronger person from it. Watching her go through the pain and agony...now that's a different story. My Mom has always been the heartbeat of our home. From the time when we were little kids, my Mom has been like that. She took in elderly ladies to earn extra money to provide for us kids. She never thought that was too much work, she just did it because she wanted to be home with us kids. That's just how she was. She is a strong lady even though she may not consider that about herself. She has an amazingly positive outlook on life. She can turn the worst circumstance into a blessed event. She can look outside at a rainy day and relish in the fact that we needed the rain desperately. Based on these aspects of my Mom, I know she can weather any storm. She will be successfull at one more thing in her life...cancer. I am proud of my Mom. She is strong, she is a fighter and she will be a survivor.

Mom is due to start chemotherapy this Monday, September 15. She will receive it once every 3 weeks for 4 treatments. She will then get weekly treatments for 8 weeks. After that, 8 weeks of daily radiation will complete her journey. A huge blessing is coming her way. We will be there to witness it Mom! I love you dearly....

Tori is off to preschool

Tori started preschool today at Kids Korner. This year she'll go Monday/Wednesday/Friday. She is so excited and loved seeing all her friends from last year. She especially enjoyed seeing Olivia and Ella (see photos below). Our little girl is growing up. She will learn so much this year in preparation for kindergarten. I can't wait to see how her mind expands. We'll go on many field trips together. I will cherish all the memories we create this year.

I had to include this photo of Tori and Sam. Doesn't it look like Sam is smiling for the camera? Makes you smile.....
